turquoise

Jeremy and I went shopping last night... a very rare trip that included the mall, new shoes, and a fantastic sale on jeans and pants at gap. I think the last time we were at the mall together was Christmas, and I don't go there very often anyway. I'm a little late to the party, but toms are so comfortable! love them.

the december album.

I decided to make a December album. Yes, I know Christmas is in nine (well, technically eight) days. Better late than never, right? (And if you know me, you know that more than likely I will be a little late).

I've been taking photos here and there all month, with my blackberry and camera + keeping little notes in my blackberry with details and ideas, but first everything needed a place to go... so the logical place to start was with the cover.

First I cut a piece of cardboard to 6 x 8 and then painted it ivory. I wanted a white on white effect, similar to Elizabeth Kartchner's (also, ivory is a good choice given my color-commitment phobia). Then I painted a piece of die cut Dear Lizzy paper with the ivory paint. After that, I decided that 6 x 8 seemed a little too big, so I cut it down to 5 x 7. Then I decided that was too small and felt kind of awkward. So I cut another piece of cardboard to 6 x 8 and... painted it ivory (I am nothing if not indecisive). Now all my ivory paint is drying. :)

its official.

I have a blog. I had to get a little creative with the address, because apparently there is more than one Rachel Anderson. but this way Scout's initial is involved, which she is happy about (she is celebrating by ripping the stuffing out of another toy). Jeremy had no comment about his initial being involved. hmmm.
